Joe Riccio (right), Port Director at the Port of Davisville, introduced U.S. Senator Sheldon Whitehouse (left) for the Senator’s keynote address at the American Association of Port Authorities’ recent legislative event.

“Senator Whitehouse has been a consistent and well-known advocate on a number of important issues facing our nation,” Riccio told attendees at the Washington, D.C. event. “But as port director at Quonset’s Port of Davisville, I’ve had a chance to see that he is just as diligent, just as consistent and just as effective when it comes to supporting our success at Quonset over the years.”

Sen. Whitehouse spoke about his work to improve the offshore wind development process and get new sources of affordable clean energy on the grid, as well as his proposed legislation to create a new dedicated stream of funding from future offshore wind development for coastal protection.
