The Seabees would be proud. After the Davisville naval base in North Kingstown closed in the 1990s, the land was redeveloped into a mixed-use business park operated by the Quonset Development Corporation, which was created by the General Assembly in 2005. “Quonset huts” still adorn the Seabee Museum and Memorial Park where the Fighting Seabee Statue looms, but the main action today at the park revolves around business development and new hires (check out www.quonsetjobs.com). Exeter resident and University of Rhode Island College of Engineering alumnus Steven J. King leads the helm.
