House members tour Quonset Business Park

Legislators to see progress & future plans

NORTH KINGSTOWN, R.I. (WPRI) - Members of the Rhode Island House of Representatives toured the Quonset Business Park on Tuesday.

The Quonset Development Corporation organized the event to give legislators a chance to see first-hand the growth and development at the North Kingstown business park and to hear from QDC officials about the park's progress and future plans.

According to the QDC, more than 9,500 people work at more than 175 companies at Quonset today.

Rhode Island's only public port, the Port of Davisville, is consistently one of North America's Top Ten auto importers.

Additionally, a dredging project at the port was recently completed.

The new Gateway Offices also opened in August , and within six weeks, the 14,000 square feet of office space for small businesses and start-up companies was sold out.

A similar tour was held in mid-November for members of the Senate.
